If you wrap wire around a PVC pipe, does that affect the amount of electricity produced?

I'm doing a project where i need to create electricity, so I'm using the concept of changing flux by oscillating a magnet towards and away from a coil of copper wire with multiple loops. If I wrap the coil around a PVC pipe, would that affect the current through the wire?
