Is there a special kind of solder or flux to use for stainless steel?

You need silver bearing solder. Harris #8 StaBrite is good, but expensive. Plumber solder works okay, but make sure it has silver in it. Everything has to be CLEAN..sanded. Use Harris StayClean liquid flux.
