Ipod nano 5th generation problem...?

Ok. I'm on vacation and i slipped and fell in a bit of water while my Ipod was in my pocket. It got a little wet and it was basically out before i got it wet. i pressed the menu button and the little Apple screen showed up, so i was pretty relieved. Then i took it home and charged it up and i took it out and it is now stuck on lock. The button works, i'm able to flip it on and off but that doesn't change anything, there is still the little ipod lock in the corner. I tried to reset it, that didn't work because it is LOCKED. I tried to restore, that didn't do anything either. I was told to let it dry out because it got wet...but it happened yesterday and no change. We don't have any rice to put it in because we are on vacation away from our home. Is there anything i can do, or is my Ipod ruined? (5th generation Ipod nano)
